We arrived at our hostel just before sun down. We were exhausted, and though it was only 7:30 after we got situated and introduced, it was dark and felt late after the long day. Just before I headed towards the room from the common area, this little one came to my feet.
I have never truly been a cat person, because I’m allergic and don’t ever really have the ability to form a bond. But I have to say, in this rare scenario, it was love at first sight.
The first time she talked to me with her high pitched cry, requesting some loving, I told her I couldn’t because I am allergic, and I swore it was a legitimate excuse. But she didn’t buy it, and would not leave me alone. She cried, and nuzzled up on my feet, and cried some more. I even started to pet her with my foot but it would not suffice.
Finally I gave in, and though I have to wash my hands every time I touch her, it’s worth it. She follows me around everywhere and I am so in love with her. I’ve been here for one day, but she is my little Balinese love.
